Lens of Hope

Foundation

Founded by Jermaine J. Williams and Shawn Yabui, Lens of Hope is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting mental health awareness and healing through the powerful mediums of photography and videography.

By capturing raw, personal stories of resilience, the organization uses creative expression to foster understanding, reduce stigma, and provide a therapeutic outlet for individuals facing mental health challenges. Through visual storytelling, Lens of Hope empowers people to share their journeys and inspire others to embrace recovery and self-discovery.

Youth Film Academy

Lens of Hope Foundation

As our first initiative for the Lens of Hope Foundation Inc., we are seeking 10 youth participants, ages 12-18, to take part in a transformative 10-week program focused on creating a short film about conflict resolution and gun violence. Under the guidance of Jermain J. Williams and Shawn Keikialii Yabui (Yabui Media), students will learn the full spectrum of filmmaking—writing the script, shooting the film, editing, and even capturing photography for marketing.

Jermaine will personally assist with scriptwriting, while Yabui Media will oversee video production. Participants will gain hands-on experience and receive a certificate of completion, along with community service hours where applicable. This program is designed to empower youth to take charge of the entire creative process, and an application process will be required for selection.
